Versarium’s Bible text is the King James Version used in the Latter-day Saint Standard Works. Compare mode adds public-domain English translations so you can see wording differences without leaving the verse. We host only texts that are free to redistribute.

    The English Bible of the LDS Standard Works and the default text on every chapter and verse page. Compare panels leave the KJV in place and show alternate translations underneath.

  2. American Standard Version

    ASV 1901 · Compare translation

    A careful American revision of the KJV tradition, long valued for literal accuracy. Useful when you want wording closer to the underlying Hebrew and Greek while staying in familiar English cadence.

    Robert Young’s deliberately literal rendering that preserves tense and word order more strictly than most English Bibles. Helpful for spotting how a phrase is structured in the original languages.

    J. N. Darby’s translation from the original languages, known for precise theological vocabulary and close attention to verbal distinctions. A strong companion when studying nuance in epistles and prophecy.

    Noah Webster’s update of the KJV with modernized spelling and selected wording changes for clarity in nineteenth-century American English. Close to the KJV, with occasional smoother readings.
